Ewan is a registered social worker based in Victoria, BC, on Vancouver Island. He holds a social work degree from the University of Victoria and maintains registration with the BC College of Social Workers. In addition to his social work credentials, Ewan is a certified addiction counsellor through the Canadian Addiction Counsellor Certification Federation.
He brings a wealth of training to his practice, including being a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner and having specialised training in trauma counselling using Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT). Ewan has experience working in several of Canada’s leading inpatient and outpatient treatment facilities, where he has supported individuals dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, and substance use challenges.
Ewan’s approach is client-centred and strengths-based, always working from a trauma-informed perspective. He has played a key role in developing the core program at HBR and has also designed and created their family program. This new family offering includes elements of the CRAFT Model of Addiction, aimed at supporting families alongside their loved ones in recovery.
