My name is Mattie Schrock and I have a bachelor’s degree in Social Work that is Indigenous focused.  I have a Masters Degree in Counselling Psychology and full registration with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors.

I started my social work career working in the Downtown Eastside of Vancouver at various SRO’s practicing harm reduction and supporting vulnerable tenants. I then worked my way into Vancouver Coastal Health and provided outreach in the downtown eastside and supported patient’s getting to medical appointments and delivering medications.  I then spent two years working at a medical detox facility where I helped client’s connect to resources and apply for various treatment programs.  When I completed my graduate degree I went into addictions counselling in the community with a Mental Health and Substance Use team and have been there for the last 5 years.  I have a real passion for working with others to change disruptive patterns and gain empowerment.

I live in Vancouver with my large, long haired cat named Maxamillian.  In my spare time, I practice strength training, play squash and pickleball.
